Privacy Policy

When you ask for a quote or contact us: your name, phone number, email address, the type of insurance you're interested in, and anything you tell us about your situation.

When we arrange or service a policy, we may also need: your date of birth, address and occupation; your driver's licence, driving record, claims history and vehicle details (auto); property details such as building age, construction, renovations and prior claims (home and property); business details such as operations, revenue, payroll and loss history (commercial); your payment information, which goes to the insurer or premium-finance company and is not kept on this website.

When you visit the website: standard technical data our hosting provider records automatically, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of the visit, used to keep the site running and secure.

We only collect what we need for the purposes below.

To answer your enquiry and prepare insurance quotes. To place, renew, change or cancel your coverage. To help you with claims. To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including RIBO record-keeping, anti-fraud rules and requests from regulators. To send you renewal reminders and occasional coverage updates; you can opt out of non-essential messages at any time.

We do not sell your personal information.

Insurance companies and managing general agents (MGAs), so they can quote and underwrite your coverage. Sending your details to several insurers is how we compare prices for you.

BrokerUnion Insurance Inc., our brokerage of record, for licensing, compliance and policy administration.

Industry databases used for underwriting and fraud prevention, such as driving-record, claims-history (AutoPlus, HITS) and credit-score services, where you have agreed to their use.

Premium-finance companies, if you choose to pay monthly through one.

Service providers that help us run the business, such as email, phone, website hosting and broker management software, bound by contract to protect your information.

Regulators or law enforcement, when the law requires it.

Some providers may store data outside Ontario or outside Canada, for example on U.S. cloud servers. When that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country.

When you submit our quote form or call us, you consent to us using your information to respond to you and to get you quotes. We'll ask for your express consent before collecting sensitive information, such as credit or claims history. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you do, we may not be able to quote or service your insurance.

We keep client records for as long as RIBO and other laws require, generally [X] years after the policy ends. We keep quote requests that don't lead to a policy for [X months]. After that, we securely delete or anonymize the information.

We use reasonable safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to staff who need it, password-protected systems and confidentiality agreements. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required.

You can ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used; ask us to correct information that is wrong; withdraw consent or opt out of marketing messages; and make a complaint about how we handle your information.
